If as a parent or guardian you have a good breakfast then that sends out such a positive message to the kids in your care. A good breakfast is so important and many people just don’t bother. There are many reasons why people just forego the most important meal of the day.
I guess many people actually do not realise that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A good breakfast sets the body up for the whole day; it also helps to prevent cravings mid morning or even earlier. When we get these cravings we just grab whatever we can without a consideration if it has good benefits for us or not. The food content in what we eat at this time is probably very limited, the sort of thing being grabbing a cappuccino or latte plus whatever else we buy with that, maybe a muffin, a chocolate bar, a packet of crisps. Well of course there will be some food content in it because the drink will contain good milk. The worrying aspect of this style of eating is the amount of calories we will consume in this snack! We have to look at the detrimental effect this form of eating habit has on our long term health.
I started this article saying it is good for kids, and yes it is good for kids to start their day with a good breakfast, they will have energy instead of lethargy as they begin their day.
